The Living room is one of the more important rooms in a house. No house is complete without a Living room. It is here that one entertains guests, have family meetings and also enjoy watching the television. This is THE room for relaxing with oneself or socializing with friends. The living room sets the tone for the rest of the rooms in a house. If you enter a house with an untidy living room, you may be sure that the other rooms, too are untidy.

In UK, during winters it gets quite cold and chilly, so a living room must have a fireplace, too. The fireplace is normally situated at one end of the room. Pots with indoor plants and bright colored flowers will also give a pleasing appearance to the visitor. Usually a living room will also contain showcases to exhibit the souvenirs that you would have collected during your trips to various locations, around the world.

The windows of the living room must open either towards the east or the west. That will ensure sufficient light in the room during the day. A soft carpet will enhance the richness of the room. In today’s living room , ensure that you have many electrical sockets for your guests to charge their mobile or cameras when they visit you ! Always remember that however good looking and decorated your living room is, you can really make your guests comfortable, with your warm, open hearted welcome wherein they feel your genuine interest in them.
